Book Review : Let it snow - Three Holiday Romance by Maureen Johnson, John Green and Lauren Myracle
So here goes nothing~
Yes, this is yet another book review!!!
So, I think I will review each story individually as they are written by different writers even if they're interconnected.
I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll be brief, but I'll still mention my thoughts and ye know, feelings about it.
First off!
RATINGS (a new addition to the reviews)
Objective of the stories:
Probably to melt your perhaps frosty heart for the cold season!
So with no further ado, it's obvious, that they are all heart-warming in its own way, and very relatable :)
Jubilee Express by Maureen Johnson
So Jubilee, yes that is our female protagonist's name, who was named after a precious toy building (her parents' collectibles which are way too expensive and was really really unneeded in my opinion), was on her way to California on a train as her parents got arrested for causing a riot for an auction of other precious toy buildings. (See what I mean, a riot for toy buildings.)
Of course, this was not her plan for christmas, not even in the slightest.
Jubilee only wanted one thing for Christmas, which was meeting her Noah, her ever perfect boyfriend, at his ever perfect Christmas party; although, it was not called a christmas party. It was.. something, I forgot, it's not an important keyword anyway hehu!
ANYWAY.
It was actually very important to her that she went to this party as she never got to spend time as much as she wanted with Noah as he was always busy with applications and being the perfect image of perfect. (He's not the perfect boyfriend per say, he's just perfect. Get it?). In fact, she never even understood why she was chosen by him. (Oh Jubilee, none of us understood why we got in a relationship in the first place.)
Anyway, in this story, she met a few people along the way and well, let's just say she learned what is it to actually have a boyfriend. Well, it's almost about that, almost.
It's safe to say, there is another guy involved, and just maybe, she did get stranded in the middle of the journey, oh and, who knew there'd be nutters like her parents around there too? I hope you read the book to fill in the blanks :) Hehu (I love hehu-ing.)
Anyway... (I love saying anyway, don't you?)
I mean, I certainly hope anyone who has a boyfriend like Noah would realise that they deserve so much better! And to all the Noahs out there, what are you doing?! GO GET THE GIRL AND TREAT HER RIGHT.
Having said that...
Now to my own view. I mean, we all relate to stories better when we have some experience in them, right? Or maybe, the book is the experience. Is all or nothin, I guess?
Okay, due to my own experience in love, I was sorta never Jubilee, I was a Noah, but not to that extent. (I don't think I know anyone as busy and apparently, as perfect as Noah)
To give some kind of image of me, I was always busy. I am, actually. There was always something for me to do, and there's always people I need to help or care for, so to say, my 'partner' is sorta, neglected sometimes, ye know? And I always did feel guilty about it, but at times, you gotta get your priorities straight. Right? Well, that's what I thought, at the time.
So, seeing Jubilee explain about her busy Noah, made me think of myself really. It was like an eye-opener. I mean, I'm no popular girl (very far away from the tile popular girl, think bookworm in the corner.) or so good at everything. But, yeah, Jubilee never got to spend that much time with her Noah, and in the end of the story, she knew she deserved better. This part actually opened my mind a little, was my partner alright? Was he going to leave me? Did I ever gave enough attention he should've gotten? So, in the end, I did put in more time with my partner, and somehow unlike before, he was more willing to give space now! (Which is exactly what I needed! and yes, we did have that problem before.)
Conclusively, It's a give and take. Before you assume anything less, we are doing much better now :)

Please, nothing harsh as it's not beneficial to both sides.
